Dex Raises $3.1M to Transform AI-Powered Recruitment

London-based startup Dex has secured $3.1 million in pre-seed funding to scale its innovative AI recruitment platform. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz's Speedrun fund and Concept Ventures, with participation from prominent angel investors including Meta board member Charlie Songhurst and Deliveroo COO Eric French.

AI Talent Agent Matches Candidates with Ideal Roles

Dex acts as an "AI talent agent," using artificial intelligence to match candidates with companies. The platform conducts conversational interviews to understand candidate skills, experience, and career goals. Dex then uses this data to identify ideal job opportunities, even for passive candidates not actively searching.

For active job seekers, Dex streamlines the entire application process, from search to submission. The platform eliminates the need for traditional CVs and cover letters, presenting candidates directly to hiring managers.

Dex talks through your preferences and needs, asking questions to deeply understand your experience and skills. Using this data, Dex maps the entire market to find the most appropriate opportunities. - Paddy Lambros, CEO of Dex

Improving Hiring and Retention with AI

Dex aims to improve long-term employee retention by ensuring a strong candidate-company fit. The platform gathers data from various sources, including large public datasets, interview transcripts, and consultations with experienced recruitment leaders.

Dex leverages multiple large language models (LLMs), including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Meta Llama, to power its AI engine. The platform continuously evaluates and switches between providers to utilize the latest advancements.

On the company side, Dex works with recruitment teams to understand their ideal candidate profiles. This ensures personalized matches that align with company culture and requirements.

Expansion Plans Following Funding

With the new funding, Dex plans to expand its engineering and marketing teams. The company will initially launch publicly in the UK before targeting international markets. Dex aims to create lasting partnerships between employees and companies, helping businesses retain top talent and empowering individuals to find fulfilling work.
