Google Launches In-Depth SEO Deep Dive Events

Google announced a new series of multi-day SEO workshops called Search Central Deep Dive. The pilot program will launch in the Asia-Pacific region and expand from there. These events aim to address the need for more in-depth SEO training.

Why Deep Dive Events?

Google's Gary Illyes explained that current Search Central Live events, limited to shorter presentations, offer only a surface-level overview of complex SEO topics. He emphasized the need for more time to contextualize information and connect theory to practical applications, such as using Search Console and server logs.

“One of my pet peeves with Search Central Live is that…we have 25 minutes, maybe, for a talk…How do you link the topic…to something tangible? Like…crawling…how do you show people how that looks like in Search Console or in server logs…if you only have 25 minutes or even less?”

Another Googler, Cherry, added that longer sessions allow for deeper exploration, networking, and interactive, practical exercises.

“With longer time…we can talk about more things, deeper things. We can have more time for networking, interactive…or even practical things that usually we might not have.”

Topics and Locations

Specific topics are yet to be finalized. Google plans to gather user feedback during the signup process to tailor sessions to regional needs, covering both technical and marketing aspects of SEO.

While the initial events will be held in the APAC region, the exact location is still under consideration, with Bali mentioned as a possibility. Budget is a factor in the decision-making process.

Search Central Live Continues

Google confirmed that Search Central Live events will continue and expand globally, potentially including the Baltics.
