Hotels.com Rings in Savings with New Mascot "Bellboy"
Hotels.com has launched a new marketing campaign featuring "Bellboy," an anthropomorphic hotel desk bell, to promote summer travel savings. This marks a return to mascot-focused marketing for the Expedia Group-owned travel booking site.
The campaign, which includes a catchy jingle, highlights a sale running through May 26. Bellboy will appear across various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and the Hotels.com website and app.
Bellboy to Become Global Brand Ambassador
Bellboy is designed to embody confidence while sharing travel tips and savings opportunities. The character will also educate users about helpful tools within the Hotels.com app, such as the new price alert feature.
This new mascot strategy comes after Hotels.com retired its previous mascot, Captain Obvious, in 2022. Since then, the company has explored character-free advertising, but now returns to a mascot-driven approach.
The campaign's focus on deals and savings comes ahead of the busy summer travel season. Bellboy's debut also coincides with a broader trend of brands leveraging mascots for cross-platform marketing.
Hotels.com is offering consumers 25% or more off a wide range of hotels, plus the chance to earn 50% more rewards on bookings.
