Google Launches AI Futures Fund to Empower AI Startups
Google has announced the AI Futures Fund, a new initiative designed to support startups leveraging Google DeepMind's advanced AI tools. This fund will back startups from seed to late stage, providing varying levels of assistance.
Support for AI Innovation
Selected startups will gain early access to Google's cutting-edge AI models from DeepMind. They will also have opportunities to collaborate with experts from both DeepMind and Google Labs. Additionally, the fund will provide Google Cloud credits to help startups scale their operations.
Some startups may also qualify for direct investment from Google. The fund operates on a rolling basis, meaning there are no fixed application deadlines. Google will review opportunities as they arise and invest in companies aligned with the fund's mission.
Early Success Stories
The AI Futures Fund has already seen early success with startups like meme-making platform Viggle and webtoon app Toonsutra.
Startups can apply starting May 12th via the application portal.
Google's Continued Commitment to AI
This initiative builds upon Google's ongoing commitment to fostering AI advancement. Previous efforts include Google.org's $20 million commitment to AI researchers and scientists, a $120 million Global AI Opportunity fund for AI education, and a $20 million generative AI accelerator program for nonprofits.
Google also continues its Google for Startups Founders Funds, which supports startups across various industries, including AI. This year, the fund will increase its focus on US-based AI startups.
