Spotify Upgrades AI DJ with Voice Control
Spotify has enhanced its AI DJ with interactive voice commands, allowing Premium subscribers in over 60 markets to personalize their music listening experience. This new feature, currently available in English, lets users request specific songs, artists, genres, and even change the mood of their AI-curated playlists.
Previously, the AI DJ passively played songs interspersed with commentary. Now, users can actively shape their listening experience. By holding the DJ button, users can make voice requests. A quick tap on the DJ button will shift the playlist's vibe without a specific request.
How to Use Voice Commands with Spotify's AI DJ
To access the AI DJ, type "DJ" in the search bar. Then, hold the DJ button located at the bottom right of the screen to activate voice commands. Want a different feel? Just tap the DJ button.
Spotify initially launched the AI DJ in the U.S. and Canada in February 2023. Global expansion followed in August 2023, with Spanish language support added in 2024. This voice control update builds upon Spotify's other AI-powered features, including playlist creation via text prompts.
