Meta Announces New Advertising Opportunities Across Platforms
Meta revealed several ad updates at NewFronts 2025, designed to enhance advertising opportunities across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. These updates focus on improved creator collaborations, leveraging trending Reels content, and expanding video ad formats.
Reels Trending Ads and Creator Marketplace Updates
Instagram is testing Reels trending ads, allowing brands to place their promotions alongside trending Reels content. This offers businesses a prime placement within popular content, boosting brand awareness and resonance.
Meta's Creator Marketplace is also getting a trends display, powered by AI. This feature identifies trending topics on Instagram Reels and recommends relevant creators. Marketers can sort trends by region, topic, and timeframe (24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).
Additionally, Creator Marketplace profiles will now display performance indicators from past brand collaborations, such as hook-rate and interaction rate. This data helps inform brands when selecting creators for partnerships.
Partnership Ads and Expanding AI Capabilities
Meta is expanding its AI-powered creator content recommendations to Facebook. This feature, already available on Instagram, suggests high-performing organic content mentioning a brand, which can then be leveraged for paid promotions.
Partnership Ads are also getting an update. Brands can now choose whether to display their brand handle on Partnership promotions, potentially making these ads appear more organic. Meta is also testing Facebook Live Partnership ads, allowing brands to boost live videos created in collaboration with creators.
Threads Video Ads and AI-Powered Video Expansion
Following the recent launch of static ads on Threads, Meta is now testing video ads for the platform. These video ads will autoplay in-stream and expand on click, featuring a call-to-action button. Meta is also rolling out AI-powered video expansion on Facebook Reels. This tool automatically adjusts video aspect ratios by generating "unseen pixels," simplifying cross-platform campaign scaling.
These updates provide a range of new advertising options for businesses looking to maximize their reach and engagement across Meta's platforms.
