Reddit Expands to India with Hindi Translation

Reddit now offers automatic translation of posts and comments into Hindi. This move aims to increase accessibility for Indian users and grow Reddit's presence in the country.

With this expansion, more people-powered content is now accessible in one of India's most spoken languages.

Reddit confirmed plans to add support for Bengali soon.

Translation Feature Rollout

Reddit began testing site-wide machine translation last May with French. The feature expanded to over 35 countries in September, adding Spanish and Portuguese.

Earlier this month, Reddit also launched its AI-powered search feature, Answers, in several countries, including India, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, and the U.K. This feature was previously limited to a small group of English-speaking users in the U.S.

Reddit's Focus on India

India is a key market for Reddit. The company is actively hiring for various roles in India, including community building, growth, legal, engineering, content, and community management.
